12 SLOT PCMCIA SRAM PC CARD BACK-UP BATTERY MONITOR
PCMCIA SRAM PC Cards generate Battery Voltage Detect signals (BVD1 & BVD2), that inform the host system of the back-up battery status.
The status is indicated as follows:
- The battery is in good condition and data is safe.
- The battery is part discharged, but data is still good.
- The battery is too low to retain data safely.
The SRAM PC CARD BACK-UP BATTERY MONITOR displays the above SRAM PC Card battery status by the colour of an LED indicator:
- Pale green
- Bright green
In the case of PCMCIA SRAM Recharge PC Cards, the Monitor keeps an inserted Card under power so that the charging circuit within the Card can recharge its data back-up battery. The SRAM Card current consumption is also monitored giving a more accurate indication of the battery state of charge.
The time taken to charge the battery is determined by the charging circuit within the SRAM Card.
SRAM Recharge Cards indicating Red need to be left approximately 48 hours in the Monitor, to allow the charging circuit in the PC Card to fully recharge the data back-up battery.
The 12 PC Card slots in the Monitor are independent of each other and can handle Cards in different states of charge.
In a situation where the Cards are intermittently used, they can be kept in the Monitor for long periods without risk of damage.
Careful attention has been paid to the operating condition of Cards left in the monitor for long periods and there is no risk of data corruption.
The Monitor operates from 15 to 18 Volts DC and is supplied with a CE approved plug top power supply suitable for the voltage and plug type of the country concerned.
